Our Island Adventure!

I was a very lucky girl this past weekend and got to accompany my husband on his business trip to the quaint little island of Nantucket!  This trip has been planned since last June when he went to the same conference without me (I had a wedding) and it was well worth the wait :)  The weather was GORGEOUS all three days and we made the best of it.  Scott spent a day and a half in meetings so I had a bunch of time by myself.  I spent this time reading on the beach (I read a book and a half!), exploring and spent one morning in the Whaling Museum.  Friday evening we had a Conference Wine Tasting and Dinner.  It was fun to meet all the people Scott has been talking about for so long.  Saturday afternoon he was free and we began our quality time together.  We had lunch, hit the beach and got dressed up for a night out on the town :)  Sunday morning we sat on a park bench eating a freshly made baguette and sipping coffee (can't do this with kids!) and then rented bikes for 2 hours.  We rode almost 12 miles during this 2 hours!!!  It was a great way to see the island and if I return, I will make sure to rent a bike for my entire stay.
So what did we do with our two little cherubs??  Well my family graciously stepped up and took care of them for us :)  I left early Friday morning and the kids were with my dad.  He had them for a fun morning and then brought them to my sisters for the afternoon.  Here they got to play with their cousins and my mom picked them up after work and had them for the rest of the weekend.  My sister Kristen stopped by both weekend days to help my mom out.  The kids went to the Science Center, out for lunch, to the bookstore, played with Auntie, went to the park, had backwards lunch (ice cream before lunch) and enjoyed some water fun.  They too were exhausted when we got home and Z said, "I did miss you a little but really I was having too much fun!"  Thank you to all of you for making this such a wonderful weekend for the entire family!

I apologize for the quality of the pictures.....I forgot my camera so we took photos with Scott's "Smart Phone".  I have yet to download them and these few were taken on my "Dumb Phone" ;)   Yes my husband is in mobile advertising and I still have a "Dumb Phone".

It is GOOD to get away and do things like that - you and your husband really seem to enjoy each other's company so I am happy you got those days!

I really enjoyed my weekend with the kids. They were great, and we have fun. I was exhausted, too.
