A Celebration of Daddy

S has been working around the clock, 7 days a week for the past 5 months.  It is very hard to get a new business up off the ground, especially a technology business where there is sooooo much competition and big companies can crush little guys overnight.  S and his very small team have been working very hard and for no pay to get their dream off the ground.  They launch in a little more than a month so it is crucial that everything get done very soon.  He is sooooo stressed and the kids and I thought he needed a little pick me up to keep working at the grueling pace he has been working at, so we planned a party for him :)

We made decorations, Z requested chips and salsa, brought out S's favorite jammies, wrapped a little gift that we were saving for a special occasion (a daddy mug with pictures of us), had his dinner ready, Z picked out one of Daddy's favorite songs (Power of Love) to play and even had a cold beer for him to enjoy :)  C looked at all the pictures of Daddy and the kids that we printed out and kept saying "Dawdy, Dawdy, Dawdy," We were ready to go (about 2 hours too early ;).

When we finally heard S's car, we turned off all the lights and waited for him to come up the stairs.  Once he did, we flipped them on, Z hit play on the Ipod and we yelled, "Surprise!".  It was a big surprise for S and he was so touched by the gesture.  He was beaming all evening and told me it was what he really needed to keep going.  At the end of the party Z said to S, "Thanks for working a lot, I know you do it to make money for us".  This really choked S up :)
